Every year, about 300,000 kids visit the emergency room because of bike injuries. Here are some tips on keeping your child safe while riding their bike:

  • Wear a helmet! Studies show that 74-85% of bicycle related head injuries could be prevented with the proper use of a helmet
  • Dress your children in bright colors when riding so their clothing can easily be seen by motorist
  • Teach your child about traffic rules and how to obey them
  • Don’t allow your child to ride at dusk or at night. It is difficult for motorists to see them without daytime light
